NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Mirna Sabbagh

I am a licensed dietitian and mother of 8 year old Karim. My mission is to spread nutrition information to new parents. Information I couldn't find easily myself when I needed it with my son.

I couldn't believe how hard for me even as a dietitian it was to find information that is practical and not conflicting!

This confusion lead me to my mission to simplify nutritional information for a healthier generation and stress-free mealtimes.

My Story

Nutrition was my second degree in university. While studying I was SUPER pregnant with my son Karim. I was fascinated by how important nutrition is for children!

I was SHOCKED that the whole world didn't know that we can almost prevent all diseases and change the generations to come with healthy nutrition for babies!

I felt super ready to be a mother! But when I became a mother, NOTHING was like I expected.

Breastfeeding was the hardest thing I have ever done mentally. My son had an extreme allergy I didn't find out about until he was 2 months old.

Soon after, I traveled to Dubai and was SO alone in my motherhood journey.

I struggled to find information. I had no idea how to cook. Being away from my family and with no help, I had an extremely tough time.

I learned step by step. But it took it's toll on me.

Once I got on my 2 feet, my sister told me "Why don't you start a blog about your experience?".

And I did. Since then the little blog which I wrote at 4:00 AM before my son woke up, reached more than 300,000 mothers in our region.

I am forever grateful for it. I promised myself one thing. That if I could, I want to simply mother's experiences. I want to give them summarized knowledge so nutrition has to be something they absolutely don't have to worry about.

One mother at a time, I hope to be achieving that.

I am beyond honored and blessed that these words have reached you. Allow me to introduce you into my practical world of nutrition information.

How do I help mothers?

Currently I provide 2 services for mothers:

1. A nutrition membership that provides courses, live Q/A sessions,  and a community of mothers.

2. Online and in person consultations. This is VERY limited. I take on a few families a week during certain times of the year. If you're interested, you can call Circle Care Clinic or book an online consultation by e-mailing us on [email protected]

On a personal level

Nutrition and motherhood aside, here's a sneak peek into who I am.

  • I am an anxious/stressed person on the inside that looks super extra chill on the outside :D.
  • My superpower is empathy. I can relate to everyone's story and pain. Sometimes a bit too much. I cry at every almost every movie, wedding, birth, funeral, and every time I hear good news.
  • I am a hustler. I have fallen and gotten up way too many times, and when I am down, I take a long break and get back up.
  • I laugh and have fun double the sadness and stress in my life. My favorite friends are the ones who make me laugh. I love to play games with competitive people. And I am a huge foodie.
  • Music and journaling are my therapy.
  • I love awesome women who make space for others.
  • I am a virgo and literally tick all the virgo boxes.
  • My favorite books are by Brent Brown and Matt Haig. My favorite books are: The Midnight Library and The Gifts of Imperfection.
  • I love to sing but barely ever get the lyrics right.
  • I love my family and wish I could be next to them and I hate the expat experience.
  • My hobbies are reading, podcasting about women related topics, and playing cards.
  • I hate the gym but go 3-5 times a week. I struggle to maintain my weight and wish calories didn't exist.

As a mother:

My son has taught me that there is no perfect mothers and no perfect motherhood journeys.

He's about to turn 9 years old soon. I have no idea how it has been 9 years. He is funny, smart, and really good at pissing me off.

He is my biggest blessing. He eats really well overall, and eats junk every weekend :D His favorite junk foods are ice cream and Fanta (once a month). His favorite foods are Balila, Sushi, Moghrabieh (so strange I know.)

I believe in trying your best. I believe mom guilt is the most unnecessary feeling on the planet, but I struggle with it too. Mothers who think they know and do better than all other mothers are my pet peeves. We all try our best, we all feel our best isn't good enough. And that's life.
